Adelaide gets the nod for the OPTUS small businesses call centre
Optus has announced a dedicated Adelaide based call centre for small businesses when just over a month ago they announced they were cutting 200 call centre jobs from its Adelaide call centre.
In a press release today Optus made reference to a “dedicated Adelaide based SMB call centre team as part of a refocus on Australia’s two million plus small business owners.
It was hoped that with this announcement there would be some new opportunities for the Adelaide call centre team.
However, Optus has confirmed that sadly “there are no new call centre roles as part of this announcement, rather it is just heralding that we have a dedicated team to cater for SMB customers”.
The press release is below:
OPTUS SHARPENS FOCUS ON SMBS
Optus has announced it will refocus attention on delivering tailored solutions for Australias two million plus small business owners, supported by 126 new small business specialist stores, a dedicated Adelaide-based SMB Optus small business call centre team, in addition to 26 existing business centres.
This forms part of a new strategy to refocus attention on delivering tailored solutions for Australias two million plus small business owners, supported by 126 new small business specialist stores, a dedicated Adelaide-based SMB call centre team, in addition to 26 existing business centres.
Rob Parcell, Managing Director of Optus Small Business said Optus was primed to position itself as Australias small business support network.
We know that small and medium business operators face a unique set of business challenges and that the products and services available to them are not always tailored for their needs.
Were focusing on changing that.
Were also partnering with SMB owners from a variety of backgrounds to show that were the small business support network, and that we recognise the biggest ideas often come from small beginnings and well support bringing their ideas to life.
Mr Parcell said Optus SMB has expanded its team of Business Specialists in retail stores, call centres and business centres; and introduced Premium Support services for small business customers.
Many SMB operators are time-poor and want access to quality service around the clock.
Whilst many are happy to visit our stores for a fast transaction off-the-shelf, we know others require a premium level of service to help them grow and we’re committed to delivering that.
Most small businesses owners dont work nine-to-five.
They conduct their business from their home, the front seat of a van or a shared innovation space.
They need access to a reliable, high-speed connection to the world and an expert team who understands their unique communication needs, Mr Parcell said.
