Launch of Contact Centre Future Leaders Mentoring Program

Editors note: After a successful trial in 2018, applications for the 2019 program are now open.

Great to see the launch of a new initiative for the contact centre industry, especially for those looking to make a career out of contact centres.

SMAART Recruitment has launched their Contact Centre Future Leaders Mentoring Program that will run for 12 months from late October 2017.

The Mentoring Program is designed to provide those who are moving into a leadership role as their next career step, or are currently performing a leadership role, with an opportunity to learn from peers within the industry to develop leadership, communication and decision making, amongst other skills.

Experienced and senior Contact Centre Managers and Heads of Contact Centre will mentor the “up and coming” Team Leaders, Operation Managers and more junior Contact Centre Managers.

“The contact centre industry needs strong leadership,” said James Witcombe, Associate Director at SMAART Recruitment. “The aim of the mentoring program is to help equip the next generation of leaders with the skills and insight they need to become great leaders and drive the industry forward”.

The 12-month program has been developed in conjunction with AltusQ, an experienced business coaching firm and Australian corporate mentoring program specialist, to facilitate the next generation of talent within the industry.

“This is a great way for the industry to come together,” said Witcombe. “There’s a natural caution when mentoring someone within the same industry, however when pairing mentors and mentees together we’ll be mindful to ensure there is no conflict of interest.”

The program will initially just be run in Melbourne and is aiming to have 15 pairs.
