New call centre Outsourcer in Victoria opens its doors
As we reported earlier this year, one of the worlds largest outsourcers has opened up operations in Australia.
It may have taken a little while but yesterday was the official opening of the Teleperformance Australia operations in Burwood, Victoria.
Located 16 kilometers outside of Melbourne in Burwood, Victoria, the facility is close in proximity to residential communities and colleges, including Deakin University, and offers opportunities for both part and full-time employment.
The Andrew’s Labor Government is claiming they have helped create 300 jobs in Melbourne’s east with Teleperformance the first company to recruit workers through their $53 million Jobs Victoria Employment Network, which connects those Victorians facing barriers to employment with jobs.
The Minister for Industry and Employment Wade Noonan said This is a major milestone for our new drive to help disadvantaged Victorians find work and keep it. Major investments like this are keeping Victoria growing and ensuring that all Victorians can share in the strength of our economy.
The new Burwood service centre, will service the Australian and the Singaporean markets, and has already performed strongly against internal global benchmarks.
Teleperformance is one of the largest global providers of outsourced business support services with a workforce of around 190,000 staff located across 65 countries, providing a range of services from standard customer support to analytics and highly customised knowledge solutions.
Victorian Treasurer Tim Pallas claimed With strong economic conditions, world class liveability, a highly skilled workforce and excellent infrastructure, Victoria is an attractive destination for businesses looking to establish themselves in the Asia Pacific.
Looks like Tasmania might have some competition in attracting call centres!
